Jean Revere Ferguson Memorial Scholarship
Each year, the Liberty Oak Chorus awards a $1000 Scholarship to one graduating woman student in the NJ area who intends to pursue a career in vocal music and/or performance theatre. Students should also have applied for acceptance into a music program at a college or university. Applicants must submit an application and audio or video performance which should include at least two vocal performances that demonstrate her particular talent. Music Educators should encourage your students who have exceptional talent to apply.
Congratulations to Giuliana Riccobono, a senior at Hasbrouck Heights High School and this year's recipient of the 2024 Jean Revere Ferguson Memorial Scholarship! LOC welcomed Giuliana to our June 6th rehearsal where she performed music from Les Misérables and was congratulated by Jean's family. We wish her well in her musical career.
About Jean Revere Ferguson
Jean was a beloved member and assistant director of the Liberty Oak Chorus for more than 40 years. She was an extremely talented singer, quartet member, section leader and friend. Singing was a huge part of her life. Jean past away on December 22, 2018 at the age of 77. Jean's family and the Liberty Oak Chorus created Jean Revere Ferguson Memorial Scholarship to honor her talent and friendship.
