Members: Melissa Herkalo, Carole Argulewicz, Sharon Vitkovsky and Kris Collins.
Melissa, Carole, Sharon and Kris travel far and wide to sing together. What an IMPACT we have had in each other's lives. Now we want to have an IMPACT on you by sharing our love of music and harmony!
Our brilliant BASS is Melissa Herkalo from Freehold, NJ. Melissa has been a member of Liberty Oak chorus for 13 years. Liberty Oak was the Region 15 champs for several years and have gone on to compete in the International Competitions 6 times. In 2022 Liberty Oak earned 10th place international champion medals. Melissa has sung in Match 4 and Q Music quartets receiving 4-4th place medals and 1-5th place medal. She currently serves on the music team as one of the bass section leaders. When Melissa is not singing with her quartet or chorus, she loves to sing karaoke or go out to see local bands where she can be found dancing the night away! Melissa also loves hosting gatherings of friends, creating charcuterie boards, cooking or doing other creative things. Melissa has a very supportive husband, two grown children, 2 cats and 3 grand fur babies.
Carole Argulewicz,, our lovely LEAD, is from Lake Katrine, NY. Carole has been in SAI for 42 years as a member of Evergreen Chorus. In 1999 Carole became the Director of Evergreen. Over her 24 years as director, Evergreen placed in the top five at Region 15 Competitions numerous times. The chorus earned 1st place Mid-Size Chorus awards for five consecutive years. In 2017, Evergreen represented Region 15 at the Harmony Classic Small Chorus International Competition and brought home the 3rd place international medal in this category. Carole loves to sing in quartets and sang with Xclamation! Quartet for 20 years. They placed 1st in 2001 and went onto the International Competition in Portland. Carole will be retiring as director at the end of 2023 and is so happy to be singing in IMPACT! When Carole is not singing, she volunteers at her local library, loves to walk, loves the Jersey shore, loves boating with her siblings and loves to travel.
Our bodacious BARITONE is Sharon Vitkovsky from Hamburg, NJ. Sharon is our most recognized and famous member. She is the owner of a beautiful crown which she earned in 1992 with Region 15 Champs and International Champions, City Lights Quartet. In 2020, Golden Apple Chorus invited Sharon to "help out" at their rehearsals as their director had retired. Shortly thereafter, Sharon became their director. Sharon sang with Melissa in Q Music Quartet. Sharon is always busy arranging, choosing music and going to performances with Golden Apple Chorus. She is also our wonderful "Hostess with the Mostess" opening her new home to IMPACT for our rehearsals since she is centrally located 1.5 hours away from each of us. Sharon has a wonderful husband John, two grown sons living close by, a daughter who lives in California and 6 grandchildren who she loves to spend time with.
Kris Collins is our terrific TENOR from Bethlehem, PA. Kris has been a member of SAI since 1983. Kris has been singing tenor with Liberty Oak chorus for over a year now. Kris has sung in various choruses in Region 1, New England Area. She earned first place medals in several of those choruses. Kris also sang in Blue Champagne Quartet who placed 1st in the 1988 Region 1 competition. She placed 3rd with One Way Fare Quartet in 1991. Kris is one of the original founding members of Millennium Magic chorus that formed in 2001 as a small self directed chorus in Connecticut. They went on to win 1st place small chorus qualifying them for Harmony Classic International Competition where they placed 2nd. Kris and her husband Harold moved to Pennsylvania in 2013 where she sang with Greater Harrisburg Chorus. When not singing Kris enjoys wallpapering, upholstering and sewing. She has traveled throughout Europe. Kris has two grown daughters and two grandchildren who she loves to spend time with.
