Robin Benowitz (Tenor) has been a Sweet Adeline since 1999, and a member of Liberty Oak Chorus since 2011. She is thrilled to be singing with Stolen Moments. Robin was an English teacher who spent 17 years as the musical director for her school’s drama program. Currently, she is a stay at home mom, who keeps busy with the occasional tutoring job, a collection of children’s poems she is writing, and the weekly chorus newsletter. She enjoys spending time with her husband Phil, her son Daniel, and their dog Max.
Susan Mangini (Lead) first became been a Sweet Adeline in 1997, in response to a square inch newspaper invitation to visit Liberty Oak Chorus. Over the years she has sung in several Region 15 and 19 choruses and quartets, and in various church groups. Among many hobbies and pursuits, barbershop singing stands out as one of enduring friendships, musical education, and joy for her. Employed as a software systems engineer, she lives in Freehold, NJ. Susan cherishes the memory of her late husband, the love of her life, Michael. She considers the opportunity to sing, love and laugh with her friends in Stolen Moments quartet as an unexpected and treasured gift!
Patti Smith (Baritone) has been singing in Sweet Adelines since 1992, starting out in Hickory Tree Chorus, and joined Liberty Oak Chorus a few years ago. She is a member of the front row and enjoys doing all of the special choreography our visual team creates. She has sung in multiple competing quartets and is now enjoying singing with Stolen Moments. Patti is a nurse and is currently working at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. She has worked in critical care for many years and also taught various health education classes in Morris, Warren and Sussex Counties. She lives in Chatham and also enjoys spending time at her condominium at the Jersey Shore.
Dolly Power (Bass) has been a Sweet Adeline since 1987 singing with Hickory Tree Chorus for 26 years and with Liberty Oak Chorus the past 3 years. Dolly is a retired Special Education Teacher with 37 years experience in Jersey City. She has been in many quartets over the years. Dolly is the Rookie Mentor for LOC and her job is to help the new members survive their first year of membership! She served on the RMT as Membership chair for 6 years and campaigned to be a webcaster which happened in Denver as Hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey! Dolly loves making people laugh. She currently dances on the front row for LOC and says that this keeps her moving! She also can apply false eyelashes in record time which really amazes her friends who know Dolly’s make-up abilities or lack of! She has two grandchildren, Maeve and Max with another on the way right before International competition. Dolly volunteers at Father Hudson House in Elizabeth which is a hospice facility. “This place really grounds me and makes me realize just how blessed I am!”
